This is more than an event. This is a tradition we’re building together.
Built on Tradition. Driven by Community.
High Desert Rodeo was created from a shared love for western heritage, community, and the belief that rodeo deserves a permanent place in the High Desert.
What began as a local effort to bring authentic rodeo action back to the community has grown into something much bigger — a tradition that now represents families, riders, businesses, and supporters from across the entire High Desert.
Where It All Began
Our Story
More than five years ago, two local organizations with deep roots in western culture — Double F Cattle Company and the Hesperia Wranglers — came together with one clear goal: Bring rodeo back to the community.
With the support and partnership of the Hesperia Recreation and Parks District’s H.A.R.D. Foundation, that vision became reality with the revival of the beloved Hesperia Days Rodeo.
For four incredible years, Hesperia Lake Park became the gathering place for riders, families, businesses, and rodeo fans from throughout the region. Those events were built around more than competition.
They were about tradition. Sportsmanship. Family. Community pride. And keeping western culture alive for the next generation.
A New Chapter
Becoming the Official High Desert Rodeo
When circumstances required the rodeo to find a new home, one thing never changed: Our commitment to the community.
We knew how much this tradition meant to the people who had supported it year after year, and walking away from the rodeo was never an option.
Instead, we looked forward. High Desert Rodeo was born. With a new name, a new venue, and the same community-driven team behind it, we expanded the vision beyond one city and created a rodeo designed to represent the entire High Desert. The response was unforgettable.
Riders showed up. Sponsors believed in the vision. Families filled the stands.
And the community proved that the spirit of rodeo is alive and stronger than ever.
That event set the foundation for the future of High Desert Rodeo — the official rodeo of the High Desert.
More Than a Rodeo
Giving Back to the Community
The High Desert has supported us from the beginning, and we believe that support should always come full circle. A portion of the proceeds from High Desert Rodeo events is proudly donated to local charities and organizations serving our community.
That means every ticket purchased, every sponsorship, and every person who participates in the rodeo becomes part of something bigger. Together, we’re able to celebrate western tradition while also creating a positive impact right here at home.
When the community supports High Desert Rodeo, High Desert Rodeo supports the community.
Keeping the Tradition Alive
Our Mission
Rodeo is more than what happens inside the arena. It represents hard work, courage, family values, horsemanship, sportsmanship, and a way of life that has been passed down through generations.
Our mission is to protect that tradition, grow it, and make sure the next generation of High Desert families has the opportunity to experience it.
We’re here to:
- Bring authentic rodeo and western sports to the High Desert
- Create opportunities for riders and competitors
- Build family-friendly community events
- Support local businesses and organizations
- Give back to local charities
- Preserve western heritage for future generations
The Rodeo of the High Desert
Built Here. For Here.
High Desert Rodeo isn’t about one city. It represents Victorville, Hesperia, Apple Valley, Adelanto, Oak Hills, Phelan, and communities throughout the High Desert.
The people behind this rodeo live here.
We raise our families here.
We support businesses here.
We attend community events here.
And we believe this region deserves a rodeo it can proudly call its own.
Built by the community. For the community.
Looking Ahead
We're Just Getting Started
Everything that has happened so far has created the foundation for what comes next.
More rodeos. More riders. More families in the stands.
More community partnerships. More opportunities to give back.
Our goal is simple: Keep the rodeo tradition thriving in the High Desert for generations to come.
We’re proud of where this story began, grateful for everyone who has helped us along the way, and excited for everything still ahead. Thank you for riding with us.
See You at the Rodeo.
